There are three gateways to Samoa, currently served by three airlines. Visitors coming through Australia or New Zealand will use either Air New Zealand (www.airnewzealand.com) or Polynesian Blue (http://www. polynesianairlines.com). Air New Zealand also stops in Apia on flights between Los Angeles and Auckland. From Hawaii, you currently fly to Pago Pago in American Samoa (several Hawaiian airlines) and fly on Polynesian Blue to Apia from Pago. Flights that go through Fiji connect to Apia on Air Pacific (www.airpacific.com). Samoa’s weather is generally warm year round, with showers during this time of year. All accommodations within Apia are within a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the conference facilities at the National University of Samoa. For current information on accommodations, and for ideas of other things to do while you are in Samoa, contact the Samoa Tourism Authority (http: //www.visitsamoa.ws/ and Samoa Hotel Association (http://www.samoa-hotels.ws/index.php).
